| The Trees and Leaves |
Everyone seems to have a favorite. Heather likes those big red maples. And I love my catalpa, although some have been critical of that choice. A lovely sight indeed is a stand of white birches and the golden shimmer of leaves on a quaking aspen is etched in my memory.
Fall gives us a riot of color but the bare branches of Wintercreate their own delicate tracery. As I grow older, I prefer the trees in bud and that unique shade of green which signifies reawakening.
But before I grow too poetic, let me add that our dog Max likes trees too, although he seems to like them for reasons of his own.
