Ordering Work Seen on This Site
We have found that the best way for us to take your order is for you to contact us by phone, email or the form below, and tell us what you want. This is because there are so many variables that there are usually questions we need to discuss. Also we prefer to take your credit card information by phone. So please fill out the form below and we will be in touch.
Commissioning a Special Project
All you need is an idea and a space. We can work with you. This is how it happens.
First, call or email us with your idea. Although our specialties are flora and fauna, if you have an idea, we can probably bring it to life in glass.
Give us an approximate measurement. Don’t think it may be too large or too small. We make etched ornaments that are 2x2”. But we’ve done very large projects as well, both public and private. We’ve designed and fabricated walls of glass for restaurants and churches. We’ve done work for libraries and nature centers. Over the past thirty years, hundreds of people have had us make transoms, sidelights, cabinet fronts, bathroom windows, and shower doors. If it can be done in glass for your home, we have probably done it. We also make awards and gifts.
Let us know if you’d like etched or stained glass or a combination of the two. We are equally adept in both techniques. If you have a budget, let us know what it is. There are many different styles in which we can work. Although some are admittedly costly, others can be surprisingly inexpensive. Two panels of equal size might cost $100 or $1,000. It depends on many factors. Considerations include design time, cost of materials and overhead.
Once we’ve discussed the project and we have agreed to accept a commission we will
require a downpayment of one third. We do not do speculative drawings.
We will need a lead time of anywhere from one month to one year. If we have a lot of shows and other commissions in the works, it could take a while. If it is a smaller project, we may be able to slide it into our schedule much sooner.
You will receive a drawing and glass samples from us. There will be no surprises. You will choose the glass, with our guidance as necessary. You will see a drawing either full sized or to scale. If you require changes and they are acceptable to us, we will make those changes in the drawing with no additional charge.
We may ask for another payment once the drawing is approved especially if the project is very large. |
